Alternative Venues London is managed by the Greater London Reserves Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (GL RFCA). We look after the interests of Reservists and Cadets throughout London and are a non-profit making organisation. The income we derive from letting TA Centres is re-invested into the Reserve and Cadet Estate.
We maintain 46 Reserves Forces Centres, which range from the very latest state-of-the-art TA Centres such as The Princess Royal House in Sutton to wonderful 19th Century buildings, steeped in history, such as Fulham House near Putney Bridge and buildings in Mayfair, Kensington and Lincoln’s Inn. Also, HMS President, an inspiring building with a large decked area over the Thames just below Tower Bridge.

Conferences, meetings and lectures
A board meeting in a Grade II listed room for 20 or a large public gathering in a Drill Hall for 500, we can provide well-equipped facilities in a variety of locations – and to suit a variety of budgets.
Weddings, cocktail parties, receptions and dinners
From the sophistication and intimacy of an Officers’ Mess to the splendour of a dinner for 250, we offer venues with style and elegance all of which are equipped with professional kitchens.
Training and sports
For physical or safety training and indoor sports, our properties have the versatility to suit any requirement.
Local meetings and playgroups
Many of our buildings are regularly used by local businesses/societies/charities/playgroups.
Demonstrations
With inside and outside facilities, our venues provide the ideal premises for all types of equipment and procedural demonstrations.
Film Locations and rehearsals
From the grandeur of historic buildings to the drabness of pre-war Drill halls, our locations can become whatever you require them to be – star of the screen or the backdrop – plus they have very secure storage and parking for equipment. Top West End productions also use our venues for rehearsals.
